San Ramon Welcomes Professional Grizzlies Cricket Team In New Partnership

The Golden State Grizzlies are now known as the San Ramon Grizzlies, per an agreement with the city and the San Ramon Cricket Association.

SAN RAMON, CA — The Golden State Grizzlies, a professional cricket team, will now be known as the San Ramon Grizzlies, reflecting a new partnership between the team, the city of San Ramon, and the San Ramon Cricket Association.

As part of the agreement, the city will host two official Grizzlies home games during the upcoming Minor League Cricket season. It will also provide logistical and ground support. The San Ramon Cricket Association will offer its facilities and support staff to the Grizzlies, and launch a new advanced training program tailored to aspiring cricketers aiming to play professionally. The Grizzlies will also identify and promote qualified youth talent emerging from SRCA programs.

“This is more than a name change—it’s a commitment to building a deep and lasting partnership with the San Ramon community,” said Samir Shah, Co-Owner and CEO of the Grizzlies. “We are deeply grateful to Mayor Armstrong and the City of San Ramon for their support and belief in our vision.
