Tanabe Jury Deliberations Recessed for Weekend

The jury will continue deliberations on Tuesday.

The jury in the trial of former Contra Costa County sheriff's Deputy Stephen Tanabe in federal court in San Francisco has recessed for the weekend and will resume deliberations on Tuesday.

Tanabe, 50, of Alamo, is accused of conspiracy, wire fraud and extortion for allegedly aiding former private investigator Christopher Butler in arranging drunken driving arrests of husbands of Butler's female clients.

The jury in the court of U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer will resume deliberations at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
