Local leaders reflect on how cityhood brought stronger local control, better infrastructure, and a reputation for safety and fiscal responsibility, while emphasizing ongoing priorities like neighborhood safety, jobs, and traffic improvements for residents.

Charges reduced in Canyon Country dispute (signalscv.com) — A Canyon Country tenant’s charge from an August dispute with a security guard has been reduced from felony assault with a deadly weapon to a misdemeanor brandishing charge. Organizer Ethan Dettenmaier recalls knocking on doors at every restaurant in Valencia and Santa Clarita before finally landing a partner, and explains how the event now symbolizes hope and fights stigma around homelessness.
