Missing Woman Last Seen At Bay Area Beach Party, Foul Play May Be Involved: Police

Police said they have learned new information indicating she may be at risk and are seeking the public's assistance.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — A 35-year-old woman who was last seen at a beach party in Santa Cruz has been missing since Thursday and authorities suspect foul play, police said.

Danielle Staley, 35, was last seen at approximately 11:23 p.m. on Thursday near Rio Del Mar State Beach.

Police said on Sunday that new information indicates she may be at risk and foul play may be involved.

She is described as 5 feet 6 inches, 120 pounds with blonde hair and was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and leopard-print leggings.

Staley's personal belongings were discovered on the beach. Her family in Utah has not had any contact with her since, which the sheriff's office noted is out of character for her, according to a report from SFGate.

The sheriff’s office has flown drones along the coastline, but investigators have found no indication that Staley entered the ocean on Thursday night, SFGate reported.

Police are seeking help from the public and are asking anyone with surveillance footage from Nov. 5 to Nov. 7 in that area to share it with authorities.

"If you live or work near Beach Drive, Rio Del Mar Boulevard, The Esplanade, or any nearby streets or pathways, the Sheriff’s Office is requesting your assistance," police said.
