All Dressed in White, Dîner en Blanc Hits the Westside
From Santa Monica to Beverly Hills, thousands bring food, wine and tables to gather for a "chique pique-nique."

More than 200 foodies all dressed in white made their way from Santa Monica to Rodeo Drive last week to meet with more than 1,000 others for an outdoor eating concept called Dîner en Blanc.
Husband Daniel Chin Yee and wife Jennifer Puno of Venice participated in what Puno calls the "chique pique-nique" on her blog Octoplace, which includes a photo gallery from the evening.
There were six departure points: Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Culver City, downtown L.A., Hollywood and The Grove. In Beverly Hills, white tables extended from Wilshire Boulevard down to Dayton Way.
The rules were to wear white, bring a folding table, white chairs, tableware and food and wine to an undisclosed location.
"It was a crazy event and I'm definitely going again next year," Puno wrote.
According to ABC, it took more than a year to get the permits approved for Rodeo Drive.
Dîner en Blanc began in Paris more than 25 years ago and has taken off around the globe. For more information about the L.A. concept, visit the website.
