Boba Shop Burglary Suspect Arrested In Santa Monica: Police

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia and an outstanding burglary warrant.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Authorities said Friday that a 24-year-old man suspected of breaking into a Santa Monica boba shop and taking three Apple iPads and an undisclosed amount of cash, could be connected to other recent commercial burglaries.

Officers arrived at a burglary about 2:50 a.m. Sunday at Dr. T House, 1709 Pico Boulevard, Lt. Rudy Flores of the Santa Monica Police Department said.

They noticed the front glass door to the business was broken, Flores said. The person reporting the burglary described the suspect and where he went.

Officers drove through the 1900 block of alley 17 and located suspect Austin Reed Turner-Crawford, a 24-year-old male experiencing homelessness, Flores said.

Turner-Crawford was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, and an outstanding burglary warrant. His bail was set at $25,000. He was released from custody Monday.

"SMPD Detectives believe that Turner-Crawford may be responsible for other recent commercial burglaries in the area," Flores said.
