Dakota Lounge Celebrates Reopening With Free Concerts

Formerly the Temple Bar, the Dakota Lounge hosts three live shows Thursday through Saturday along with happy hour deals from 6-9 p.m.

The Dakota Live Music Lounge—which was destroyed by a fire nearly two years ago—has wrapped up its soft opening and will celebrate its new space with three free concerts featuring jazz and swing band Lucky 7 Mambo, new wave pop rock group City City and DJ Peanut Butter Wolf.

The three-day "reopening extravaganza" starts Thursday and continues Friday and Saturday nights. Shows start at 9 p.m.

Happy hour drink specials run from 6-9 p.m. with half-off appetizers and well drinks and $8 specialty cocktails. The venue also promises free giveaways all weekend.

Dakota Lounge, formerly known as the Temple Bar, is located at 1026 Wilshire Blvd.

Doors opened July 6, showcasing a new interior design with 16-foot tall ceilings and an industrial look.  “It’s almost like seeing a concert in a warehouse,” managing partner Alex Fieglein told Patch in an April interview.
