Dave Barry, Matt Groening Coming to Santa Monica
The Pulitzer prize-winning columnist will discuss his novel, "Insane City" with the creator of "The Simpsons" at Live Talks Los Angeles event at the Aero Theatre.

Get ready to laugh: humor columnist Dave Barry and the creator of The Simpsons, Matt Groening, will appear at the Aero Theatre on Thursday for a Live Talks Los Angeles event.
The Pulitzer prize-winning columnist is promoting his first solo adult novel in a decade, Insane City. Set in Miami, it's the comical tale of a groom on the eve of his wedding.
Barry told the New York Times in a recent interview that he was inspired to write the book after watching his son get married. His daughter-in-law, he said, got "bride disease" and "went completely insane." Planning the wedding was like "the Normandy invasion, but more expensive."

Groening will interview Barry at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7. The two men share more in common than humor—they are members of the The Rock Bottom Remainders, a band that raises money for charity, according to Live Talks.
General admission tickets are $20. Click here for more information about the event.
