Demolition Starts for Expo's 17th St. Station
Structures at 1610, 1704, 1726 and 1734 Colorado Avenue will be torn down through March 9 to make way for one of three light rail stations in Santa Monica.
Crews were peppering Colorado Avenue with orange cones Tuesday morning as they prepared to start demolition for the future light rail station at 17th Street.
Buildings at 1610, 1704, 1726 and 1734 Colorado will be torn down between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday until March 9.
The Colorado and 17th station will be one of three Expo Line stops in Santa Monica. , which will extend from its current terminus in Culver City to downtown Santa Monica.

An opening date for Phase 1 from downtown into Culver City has not yet been released as engineers continue to work on technical problems where the Expo Line shares tracks with the Blue Line.
