Driver Arrested in Fatal Tow Truck Crash

Jill Rose, of Santa Monica, is booked into jail weeks after she allegedly left the scene of a crash that killed a tow truck driver on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.

A 44-year-old Santa Monica woman was booked briefly into jail this week on suspicion of felony hit and run resulting in death in a February crash in Malibu that killed a tow truck driver.

Jill Jeanee Rose was arrested and booked into the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lost Hills station in Malibu around noon Thursday. About two hours later, she posted bail, which was set at $75,000.

Rose had been hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries following the Feb. 11 crash that killed Newbury Park resident Ronald Carver, 45. Carver was hooking up a car on Pacific Coast Highway near John Tyler Drive when he was hit by an Audi allegedly driven by Rose.
