Ferris Wheel On Santa Monica Pier Will Light Up For The Dodgers

SANTA MONICA, CA — The Ferris wheel on the Santa Monica pier will light up with a Dodgers-themed display this weekend in celebration of Major League Baseball's postseason.

The 90-foot wheel will feature a display of blue and white colors, LA insignia and a "Go Dodgers!" message Saturday and Sunday from sunset (6:32 p.m.) to midnight, according to Pacific Park.

The National League Division Series contest between the Dodgers and the San Diego Padres kicks off at Dodger Stadium Saturday at 5:38 p.m.

The Ferris wheel, known as the Pacific Wheel, features 174,000 LED lights, which are mounted on the wheel's 40 spokes, two hubs and other parts of the structure. That all helps create 16.7 million color value combinations.

The wheel's special display will be streamed live on Pacific Park's website.
