Homeless Man Exposes Himself After Entering Sleeping Woman's Home: Police

A homeless man is in custody after entering a sleeping Santa Monica woman's home and exposing himself to her, police said.

SANTA MONICA, CA — A homeless man was arrested over the weekend after entering a sleeping woman's home before touching her and exposing himself to her, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

Anthony Townson, 34, was arrested early Saturday morning and was arraigned Tuesday on felony charges of residential burglary and indecent exposure during unlawful entry. He remains held on $155,000 bail, according to jail records.

The incident occurred at around 4 a.m. on 7th Street near Idaho Avenue. Townson entered the woman's apartment through an unlocked sliding door. The victim told police she was asleep inside her apartment when she was awoken by Townson, who was touching her leg while he penis was exposed, police said.

The woman was able to flee from the suspect and call police. Officers found Townson a short distance away and took him into custody, police said.

Townson’s criminal history includes trespassing, loitering on private property, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting/obstruct police, battery on a peace officer, and carrying a concealed dirk/dagger, according to police.
