Homicide Suspects Tased, Shot Man In Face; Police Seek Suspects
Santa Monica Police Department investigators are asking the public to help identify two suspects involved in a shooting.
SANTA MONICA, CA — Police Thursday released sketches and asked the public for any information about two men involved in a shooting in Santa Monica last month.
A man was sleeping in his car Sept. 22 near Ocean Avenue and Pacific Street about 3 a.m. when two men opened his car door and demanded his keys, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
They argued and one of the suspects tased him, police said. Then, the other suspect shot the victim in the face.

Both suspects fled southbound Neilson Way through Ocean Park Boulevard. Police described the suspects' vehicle as an older SUV, possibly a Toyota Sequoia, Toyota 4Runner or Chevrolet Tahoe.

SMPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating both suspects and the vehicle believed to be involved.

The two suspects were described as the following:
Suspect 1 is a Latino man with an accent, about 18 to 25 years old. He is 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, about 155 to 170 pounds. He has a light to medium skin tone, buzzed haircut, “fuzz” on his upper lip. He was wearing a button-up short-sleeve, loosely fitted orange, yellow, red checkered pattern shirt with loose, dark pants or jeans.
Suspect 2 is a Latino man with an accent, about 18 to 25 years old. He is 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall, about 165 pounds. He was described as “flabby” with a light to medium skin tone, buzzed haircut, no facial hair and a “baby face.” He was wearing a jersey-type top “crossover” that was red or dark in color with dark letters. He had dark to medium jean shorts and white tennis shoes.
