SANTA MONICA, CA — A large group of Ukrainian supporters marched in Santa Monica Sunday, calling for an end to the Russian invasion of Ukraine — the largest war Europe has seen since 1945.

The group walked towards Third Street Promenade, carrying Ukrainian flags and signs calling for an end to the attack on the Eastern European country.
"My mom and dad have missiles flying over their homes. My cousin and their kids and his wife are making Molotov cocktails to stop the tanks," one protester told Fox 11.

The march was organized by the Ukrainian Culture Center Los Angeles, which is demanding the Biden administration support closure of the airspace over Ukraine, immediately provide military aid to Ukraine — especially air defense systems and heavy weaponry — as well as financial and humanitarian aid, immediately enact "hellish sanctions on Russia" and "isolate Russia in all possible formats on the world stage."
The protest was one of several in Los Angeles and Santa Monica. Community members planned another rally for Ukraine Monday at 7 p.m. under the Venice sign at Pacific and Windward avenues, which is lit up yellow and blue in honor of Ukraine. The group is gathering to support Ukraine.
