Santa Monica High School’s six orchestras played selections from Brahms, Schubert, Mendelssohn, and other holiday favorites at their annual winter concert Tuesday night.

Named America’s top high school orchestra in 2005 by the American String Teachers Association, earlier this month, 48 Samohi orchestra students performed with the California Orchestra Directors Association Honor Orchestras.
Los Angeles Philharmonic’s violinist Guido Lammell called the Santa Monica High School Orchestra “one of the finest school music programs I have ever witnessed.”
