Man Dragged 84-Year-Old Woman Into Alley In Attempted Sex Assault: SMPD
A probationer is facing kidnapping charges after dragging an elderly woman into a Santa Monica alley earlier this month, police said.
SANTA MONICA, CA — A 39-year-old man was arrested after dragging an 84-year-old woman into an alley and attempting to sexually assault her earlier this month, the Santa Monica Police Department said Tuesday.
The incident occurred before 9:30 p.m. on June 5 near Sixth Street and Wilshire Boulevard. Officers responded to the area after a woman could be heard screaming for help, police said.
The suspect grabbed the woman from behind and dragged her into an alley in an attempt to sexually assault her, police said.

He fled and was arrested near Fifth Street and California Avenue, police said.
Pape Tall, of Long Beach, was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and assault with intent to commit rape, as well as a probation violation. He remains held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on July 9, police said.

The case has been submitted to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for filing consideration, police said.
