One Nabbed During Santa Monica Underage Decoy Sting
The enforcement team visited three liquor stores in the city and placed a decoy outside who asked adults to alcohol for the minor.

SANTA MONICA, CA — One person was arrested Monday during an underage decoy sting, police said.
The Underage Decoy Shoulder Tap operation uses a decoy to catch adults who furnished alcoholic beverages to minors.
"The goal is to reduce substance abuse and enhance community welfare by limiting underage access to alcoholic beverages," Santa Monica police Lt. Saul Rodriguez said.

The enforcement team visited three liquor stores in the city and placed a decoy outside who asked 16 adults to alcohol for the minor. During the sting, one person was cited, Rodriguez said.
The operation is part of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control’s Minor Decoy/Shoulder Tap Grant Project funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
