Police ID Chase Bank Robber
The suspect, David Michael Cardwell, is still on the loose.

The man suspected of was identified as 46-year-old David Michael Cardwell.
Investigators are in the midst of trying to find Cardwell and are seeking the public's help.
At about 1:20 p.m. Jan. 17, Cardwell allegedly entered the back at 1333 Fourth Street, handed a teller a note demanding money, then fled with cash, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

After the robbery, police released a photo from surveillance footage showing a heavy-set man in green pants and a collared shirt speaking to the Chase bank teller.
Cardwell was described by police as African American; 5 feet, 10 inches tall; 195 pounds; with brown hair and eyes. Police believe he is homeless.

He does not appear to have a criminal record in Los Angeles County, an online search of superior court records shows.
