Police: Santa Monica Boy, 8, Kidnapped by His Mom

The boy is missing after spending the night with his biological mother, who lost custody of her son a few months ago, Santa Monica Police say.

The police are seeking the public's help finding a mother and her 8-year-old son whom she is supected of kidnapping.

On Wednesday, Jounel Armon Taylor spent the night with his biological mother, 27-year-old Adriana Joriel Johns, and was supposed to attend school the next morning but did not show up, according to Santa Monica Police Sgt. Richard Lewis.

"Instead, Johns, who lost custody of her son in December of 2012 to her mother, fled with her son to an unknown location and has stopped communicating with her mother," Lewis said.

Taylor lives in Santa Monica with his grandmother, who has full custody, according to Lewis.

Johns is black with medium brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds.

"She is not known to possess a vehicle and her whereabouts are unknown at this time," Lewis said.

Taylor is black with brown eyes and black medium-length hair worn in an Afro style. He is 4 feet tall and weighs 100 pounds.
