Potential COVID-19 Exposure At Santa Monica City Council Meeting
Santa Monica officials were notified that a person who attended this week's City Council meeting tested positive for COVID-19.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Santa Monica City officials were notified Thursday that a person who attended this week's City Council meeting tested positive for COVID-19.
The city notified the public that the individual attended the July 18 meeting and said anyone who also attended the meeting would be considered to have had a close contact interaction with the person.
The individual's identity was not provided.

"We have been informed that the individual had self-isolated and has not been on site since that time and will not return until medically cleared to do so," said City Safety Administrator Don Cocozza.

- Closely monitor symptoms;
- Quarantine and take a COVID-19 test if symptoms arise;
- Wear a high-quality mask when indoors or around others for at least 10 days from the last contact;
- Test three to five days from the last contact
Common areas at the person's work location are disinfected on a regular basis in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Los Angeles Department of Health guidelines, officials said.
"The City remains committed to maintaining a healthy and safe working environment for all," officials said in a statement.
