A power outage happened Thursday afternoon in Santa Monica, Southern California Edison reports.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Nearly 2,000 people lost power in Santa Monica Thursday afternoon, according to Southern California Edison.

The outage was reported about 1:48 p.m., the agency reports. It's unclear what caused it. About 1,737 customers in the 90404 zip code were affected.

No immediate time of restoration was released. The company was analyzing the problem.
