Power Lines Reported Down in Santa Monica

Authorities are advising people to avoid the 200 block of 21st Street area until further notice. No service disruption was reported.

The Santa Monica Fire Department is reporting downed wire lines in the 200 block of 21st Street on Monday afternoon.

The lines were reported being down at around 4:30 p.m. The Department advises residents to avoid the area for the time being.

A representative for Southern California Edison said that there are no service disruptions in the area and crews are on the scene evaluating the situation.

SCE received reports of "Trees on the wires," SCE spokeswoman Susan Cox said. "It's safe and there are no service disruptions."

SMFD said delays and hazards are possible in the area.
