Santa Monica 7-Eleven Store Clerk Slashed in Robbery Attempt
The suspect was described as a white woman, 5 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build and short black hair.

SANTA MONICA, CA -- Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly slashed a Santa Monica convenience store worker Tuesday after being asked to leave for suspected shoplifting.
The attack happened around 6 a.m. at the 7-Eleven store, 1600 Santa Monica Blvd., police said.
The female suspect entered the store about 20 minutes before the attack and tried to steal something before being confronted by the store clerk and asked to leave, Santa Monica police Lt. Saul Rodriguez said.

The suspect left, but returned and was confronted a second time by the clerk. The woman then pulled out a sharp object and sliced the clerk, Rodriguez said.
The woman left southbound on Santa Monica Boulevard through an alley, he said. She was described as white, 5 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build and short black hair. She was wearing gray sweat pants, a dark-gray T-shirt and a multi-colored hooded jacket.

The clerk was taken to a hospital for treatment of a non-life- threatening injury, Rodriguez said.
