Santa Monica Celebrates Grand Opening Of Marine Park Community Garden
The city aims to expand Santa Monica's urban agriculture with its newest community garden and invites residents to start planting.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Residents of Santa Monica are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and start plating in the city's newest community garden.
A grand opening ceremony will welcome the community on Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 12 p..m., to unveil the city's fifth public garden. The garden will feature individual garden beds, a communal growing space, rainwater harvesting, community composting and dwarf fruit trees, according to a news release from the city.
The event will feature compost demonstrations and allow residents to inoculate their own worm bins — red wigglers will be provided.

Tours will be offered as well as refreshments, kids activities, giveaways and a raffle for the fruit trees.
