Santa Monica Court Evacuated After Suspicious Device Found
BREAKING: The sheriff's Arson-Explosives Detail rendered the device safe, but the courthouse will remain closed for the investigation.

SANTA MONICA, CA — A suspicious device at the Santa Monica Courthouse has been rendered safe, but the court will remain close for the rest of the day Wednesday for the investigation, a sheriff's deputy said.
The device was found at around 1:15 p.m., prompting authorities to empty the courthouse, located at 1725 Main St., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The sheriff's Arson-Explosives Detail was called and the device was rendered safe at around 3:20 p.m., sheriff's Deputy Kimberly Alexander said.

The arson team was still at the scene will problem remain there for the rest of the day to investigate, she said.
