Santa Monica Invites Residents To Attend State Of The City
The event will highlight community achievements in 2019 and focus on what's ahead for 2020 with Mayor Kevin McKeown.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Santa Monica residents are invited to attend the State of the City, part of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Summit, for free on Wednesday, February 12.
The annual event will highlight community achievements in 2019 and focus on what’s ahead for 2020 with Mayor Kevin McKeown. The theme of this year's State of the City is "Social Impact: Working together to shape our future," the City of Santa Monica press release said. Mick Ebeling, Founder of Not Impossible Labs, will also speak about changing the world through technology and story.
Mayor McKeown and Councilmember Greg Morena requested funds to allow residents to attend State of the City for free at the January 14 Council meeting.

"How we’re doing and where we’re going is everybody’s business, and this event can become a place for all Santa Monicans to engage on significant issues," McKeown said. "At this year’s State of the City, I hope to see a better-than-ever mix of neighborhood businesses and neighborhood residents."
The City of Santa Monica said the State of the City brings together local businesses and residents to hear about the "latest trends and innovations regionally and globally," the press release said. The Mayor presents the State of the City as well as the newest initiatives and the economic report of the past year.
