Santa Monica Neighborhoods Rank Top Places To Live In CA: Report

SANTA MONICA, CA — Several Santa Monica neighborhoods were ranked the best places to live in California, according to Niche's 2022 Best Places to Live in California.

Niche creates its annual Best Places to Live rankings with data from the U.S. Census, FBI, BLS and CDC combined with millions of resident reviews. The company considers a variety of factors in the report, including affordability, crime, cost of living, the local housing market, neighborhood diversity, area public schools, walkability, the job market and more.

In 2022, The Woodlands, TX remains the #1 Best City to Live in the U.S. And for the third year in a row, Chesterbrook, PA, a neighborhood in the Philadelphia area, keeps its title as the #1 Best Place to Live in America.

The top Golden State neighborhoods to live in are in Santa Monica, San Francisco and Palo Alto, according to Niche.

These neighborhoods offer bars, restaurants, coffee shops and parks. They have a dense, urban feel and most residents tend to rent their homes. Both neighborhoods attract young professionals and the public schools are highly rated, Niche reports.

8. Wilshire/Montana, Santa Monica, California.
9. Old Palo Alto, Palo Alto, California.
10. College Terrace, Palo Alto, California.
11. Santa Monica, Santa Monica, California.
12. Duveneck/St. Francis, Palo Alto, California.
13. Crescent Park, Palo Alto, California.
14. Evergreen Park, Palo Alto, California.
15. Midtown, Palo Alto, California.
