Santa Monica to Pay $60,000 in Trip and Fall Case
A woman cut her face and hurt her neck and back when she fell in 2010 on a Santa Monica sidewalk.

A woman who tripped and fell on a Santa Monica sidewalk two years ago, seriously injuring her face, neck and back, will receive a $60,000 settlement from the city.
Lorraine Dellarosa fell June 6, 2010 after she tripped on a cracked, uneven sidewalk on the north side of Ocean Park Boulevard near 22nd Street, according to a lawsuit she filed seven months later.
After falling, Dellarosa sought money to compensate her for hospital and medical bills, loss of earning capacity and wages.

The City Council voted unanimously to pay $60,0000 to settle the suit last week. City Attorney Marsha Moutrie told the council that Dellarosa "cut her face pretty badly" and hurt her neck and back.
"The raised portion of the sidewalk was over one inch and [the city] knew or should have known of this dangerous condition," Dellarosa's complaint states.
