Santa Monica Toy Company Sent Me Weed, New York Mom Says
The woman said JAKKS Pacific sent her a 7-pound package of marijuana instead of the toy she was expecting.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Recreational use of marijuana may be legal in California now, but one Santa Monica toy company is probably taking it a bit too far. The company allegedly sent a New York mother a package full of marijuana instead of the toy she was expecting, according to media reports.
JAKKS Pacific allegedly sent Pamela Marks of Valatie, N.Y. about 7 pounds of the narcotics, according several broadcast reports.
"I was able to smell it. I knew something was up right away," Marks told ABC7-Los Angeles.

The package was turned over to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department for investigation. Recreational marijuana use is still illegal in the state of New York and transporting it over state lines is a felony under federal law.
“The company is taking this very seriously, and we are conducting an investigation to determine the facts behind this matter,” JAKKS Pacific said in a statement to Patch.
