SANTA MONICA, CA — The family of an 86-year-old Santa Monica woman is struggling to figure out why, exactly, the federal government thinks she's dead.
Sarah Van Leuven retired as a special education teacher at the Los Angeles Unified School District on April 1, 2016. But the Social Security Administration lists that as her death date, according to a report from KTLA.
