State Insurance Commissioner to Speak to Santa Monica Dems
California's Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones will discuss healthcare reform at the Santa Monica Democratic Club meeting in two weeks.

California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones will talk about the Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare, at this month's Santa Monica Democratic Club meeting.
Jones' discussion will focus on how the new health care law is being implemented in California and will answer questions from the audience on Wednesday, May 22.
Topics could include the new "health insurance exchanges" and how they will work, the pros about a proposed ballot initiative to give the insurance commissioner enforcement power over rates, and a discussion on single payer health care.
The program will be emceed by Dr. Gene Oppenheim and Dr. Steve Tarzynski, longtime Club members and advocates for the single-payer health insurance. The meeting will take place at the Professional Development Learning Center, at 2802 Fourth Street, Santa Monica at 7:00 p.m.
The program is free of charge and open to the general public.
