Student Sexually Assaulted At Santa Monica Library, Suspect At Large: Police
The assault happened after a man approached the student and asked for a kiss, police said. Now, they're asking for help finding the suspect.
SANTA MONICA, CA — Authorities are searching for a man suspected of sexually assaulting a student in the Santa Monica College Library this week.
The incident occurred at around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday when the suspect tapped the victim, an SMC student, on the shoulder. The suspect then asked the student for a kiss, according to the Santa Monica College Police Department.
"When the victim attempted to leave, (the) suspect grabbed the victim's groin area without consent," police said in a statement. The suspect then fled the area.

Investigators provided a photo of the suspect, which a department spokesperson told Patch was obtained from social media. He's described an 18 to 25 years old and has black hair.
