Suspects Accused Of Stealing Honda, Having Burglary Tools

Three suspects were arrested on suspicion of stealing a Honda Civic, an Amazon package and having burglary tools, Santa Monica police said.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Three suspects were arrested Monday on suspicion of stealing a Honda Civic, an Amazon package and having burglary tools, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

Officers on patrol saw a suspect standing in a carport looking into the rear window of a parked Honda Civic near 10th and Arizona about 4:15 p.m. Monday, police said. Officers discovered it was a stolen vehicle and a second suspect was inside it.

The two suspects were found to be in possession of multiple vehicle keys, a 12-inch crowbar and a lockpicking tool kit, police said.

"Simultaneously, the driver of a white Pontiac with temporary Texas plates seen parked just feet from the incident was found to be working in concert with the other two individuals," police said. "Upon searching the vehicle, officers located burglary tools including a Sawzall typically used in catalytic converter theft and a stolen Amazon package."

Antonio Arteaga, 33, of Los Angeles, was booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Daniel Galvan, 32, of Los Angeles, was booked on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent, possession of burglary tools and conspiring to commit a crime.

Bernabe Escobedo-Miranda, 30, of Los Angeles was booked on suspicion of conspiring to commit a crime, receiving stolen property and possession of burglary tools.
