Woman Stabbed During Attempted Armed Robbery, Police Say
Police are asking the public to help identify two suspects who stabbed a woman while attempting to take her purse Sunday in Santa Monica.
SANTA MONICA, CA — Police are asking the public to help identify two suspects who stabbed a woman while attempting to take her purse in Santa Monica Sunday, officials said.
A man and woman were walking in the 1300 Block of Grant Street, near Euclid Street, about 3:15 p.m. when two men approached them, attempted to take the woman's purse and stabbed her, Santa Monica Police Lt. Rudy Flores said. The suspects then drove off in a black 4-door sedan on Euclid Street from Grant Street at a high rate of speed. No make or model was immediately available.
She was taken to a hospital and treated for moderate stab wounds, Flores said.

The following suspect descriptions were provided:
Suspect #1: Black man, late teens to early 20s with chin-length dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a light green hooded sweatshirt and a face mask.

Suspect #2: Black man, late teens to early 20s wearing a beige crewneck sweatshirt, face mask and armed with a possible pocketknife.
Authorities are seeking the public’s help to identify the suspects wanted for this attempted armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon or for any security video that may have captured the incident, police said.
