Waste Management of San Diego will celebrate Earth Day with the City of Santee at SantreeFest. This annual tree planting event will be held from 9:00am – 4:00pm at Town Center Community Park East located at 550 Park Center Drive in Santee. This celebration is free to participants. Santee residents and community members are encouraged to attend.
In addition to planting trees, Waste Management employees will host a booth where residents are invited to drop off household batteries for proper disposal and learn more about recycling in Santee. Participants will also have the opportunity to pose for pictures in Waste Management’s mini-truck, which is always popular with Santee youth and the young at heart.

“We are pleased to once again support the Santee community by participating in SantreeFest,” said Bill Bixler, district manager of Waste Management of San Diego. “Not only does this give Waste Management an opportunity to celebrate Earth Day with Santee residents, but we are also able to encourage recycling by collecting household batteries.”
This year’s SantreeFest includes tree planting, a river clean up, live entertainment, interactive demonstrations and a kid’s fun zone. Other earth-friendly vendors will join Waste Management with interactive and informational booths.
