A bomb squad was called to a Lakeside construction site Thursday afternoon to investigate the discovery of a metallic cylinder resembling a pipe bomb.
The silver tube, which had wires protruding from it, was found in the 11300 block of El Nopal about 3:30 p.m., according to sheriff's officials.
The explosives team investigated the object and sounded an all-clear about 6 p.m., Lt. Clayton Lisk said. It was not immediately clear if the personnel destroyed the cylinder or impounded it, Lisk said.
There were no reports of evacuations.
