Man Fatally Shot In East County Identified

The Lemon Grove resident was pronounced dead at the scene, Lt. Michael Krugh said.

LEMON GROVE, CA — Authorities have identified a man who was fatally shot last week in San Diego's East County.

Deputies responded to reports of gun shots shortly before 11 p.m. Sept. 18 in the 2200 block of Dain Court in Lemon Grove, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. They found Darron Willie Singleton Jr., 23, lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.

The Lemon Grove resident was pronounced dead at the scene, Lt. Michael Krugh said.

An autopsy was completed Friday.

"The preliminary results indicate manner of death is multiple gunshot wounds and the cause of death is a homicide," Krugh said.

No arrests have been made.

"Sheriff's homicide investigators are working to gather more information to determine the circumstances and motivation behind this death," Krugh said. The investigation is ongoing. Currently, there is no confirmed suspect information."
