Man Shot In San Diego's East County

EL CAJON, CA — A man was shot Tuesday in San Diego's East County.

The shooting was reported shortly after 2 p.m. near the 14700 block of Quail Haven Lane in an unincorporated area of El Cajon, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body, the sheriff's office said. The victim was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive following emergency surgery.

Detectives from the Alpine Sheriff's Station have not identified a suspect. The investigation was ongoing.
