Stockzilla Coming This Weekend To Santee Lakes

SANTEE, CA — Stockilla is coming this weekend to Santee Lakes.

The two-day stock event will bring 3,500 pounds of catfish to Santee Lakes, according to event organizers. Santee Lakes will also host a new Catfish Derby on both days of the fishing event that will include an adult and junior division.

There will be prizes awarded for several categories, event coordinators said. Participants will also receive a raffle ticket for each catfish weighed in.

Stockilla will take place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Derbies will run from 6-11 a.m., with the final weigh-in at 11 a.m. Derby results, prizes and raffle winners will be announced at 11:30 a.m. both days at the Santee Lakes canopy at Lake 4.

Permits cost $10 for adults, $6 for juniors and $6 for seniors. A second pole stamp costs $4. Permits can be purchased in advance at the General Store. Parking costs $7.

Santee Lakes is at 9310 Fanita Parkway in Santee.
