Wildfire Fears Prompt Shut Down Of San Diego County Power Lines
The gas and electric company turned off the power lines as the county faces Santa Ana winds.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA -- Soaring temperatures and Santa Ana winds have prompted San Diego Gas & Electric to turn off its backcountry power lines.
Power was cut in Pine Hills and Descanso this week. Areas affected by the outage include Santa Isabel, Wynola, Pine Hills, Boulder Creek, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park and the Viejas Indian Reservation, according to a Fox 5 San Diego report.
The outage comes as San Diego County faces a record-breaking heat wave. Temperatures in the region are expected to hit 20 to 25 degrees above average on Tuesday.
