Saratoga High Ranked in Top 100 Nationally
School is 7th among California high schools ranked by Newsweek.
Saratoga High School was ranked No. 81 on Newsweek's list of the top high schools in the U.S. for 2013.
Bay Area schools fared well on this list of 2,000 schools, with six in the top 114, including Monte Vista High in Cupertino (No. 103) and Mission San Jose in Fremont (No. 114). Pacific Collegiate School in Santa Cruz ranked 101st.
Newsweek's list highlights schools in the nation that turns out college-ready grads. The formula is based on graduation rate, college acceptance rate, AP tests, SAT scores and other similar factors.
Saratoga High boasts a graduation rate of 99 percent, 97 percent of its students are college bound, and scored an impressive average of 1,959 on the SAT.
Cupertino's grad rate is 97 percent, with 90 percent of its students headed for college with an average SAT score of 1,967.
