Children Injured In School Bus Crash
The driver of the car that hit the bus was seriously injured, according to the California Highway Patrol.

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA — A driver suffered major injuries when she rear-ended a school bus and crashed into a tree Monday morning on Highway 17 in Santa Cruz County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two children on the bus had minor injuries from the crash, which was reported about 9:50 a.m. on southbound 17 near Scotts Valley.
A 67-year-old San Jose woman was driving a Mini Cooper when her car hit the Blue Bird bus and then veered off the road and hit a tree, the CHP said.

She was taken to Valley Medical Center with major injuries.
There were two adults and 24 children on the bus. Two of the children suffered minor injuries, the CHP said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. It's not known if drugs or alcohol were a factor.
