• Scotts Valley Police Department receives $100K grant for traffic enforcement - Press Banner (pressbanner.com) — Scotts Valley Police just secured a $100,000 state traffic-safety grant that will fund DUI checkpoints, distracted driving crackdowns, and extra enforcement on speeding and crash-causing violations through September 2026. The money will also support bike and pedestrian safety education, community presentations, officer training, and joint operations with nearby agencies to make local roads safer.
   

• Updated battery storage ordinance unveiled ahead of Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors meeting (santacruzsentinel.com) — Scotts Valley residents should know that the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Scotts Valley City Council Chambers to review a revised ordinance governing battery energy storage projects. The proposal would set local safety, environmental, and cost-responsibility standards for future storage facilities countywide, shaping how clean-energy infrastructure is built and regulated in nearby communities.
   

• SLV Water District Approves Replacement of Aging Highland Water Tank (santacruzmountainbulletin.net) — If you live in Scotts Valley and get water from the San Lorenzo Valley Water District, a major tank replacement in Boulder Creek is part of a broader push to modernize your regional water system. A new, larger steel tank will boost storage, fire protection, and reliability, funded largely by state drought-relief grants and tied to more than a dozen recent upgrades after the CZU Fire.
