• SLV Water District Approves Replacement of Aging Highland Water Tank (santacruzmountainbulletin.net) — Scotts Valley residents served by the San Lorenzo Valley Water District will see improved regional water reliability as the district replaces the aging Highland water tank in Boulder Creek with a larger, modern steel tank. Funded by state drought-relief grants, the project is part of a post-CZU Fire push to upgrade storage, fire flow, and aging redwood tanks across the valley.
   

• Scotts Valley residents more alert to tornado warnings after past storm (ksbw.com) — Scotts Valley residents are now paying much closer attention to tornado and severe weather alerts after an EF-1 tornado unexpectedly touched down in a local parking lot in December 2024. Local officials and neighbors describe how the surprise storm changed their attitudes, highlight the rarity and unpredictability of tornadoes on the Central Coast, and stress the importance of heeding National Weather Service phone alerts.
