• In his final act as mayor, Timm presides over approval of Scotts Valley Town Center Specific Plan and EIR - Press Banner (pressbanner.com) — Scotts Valley’s long-discussed Town Center project just cleared a major hurdle, as the City Council unanimously approved its updated Specific Plan and environmental impact report, adding 657 housing units and significant public space. Residents and advocacy groups are split over traffic, small-town character, and whether the plan goes far enough on housing, but new Mayor Donna Lind and Vice Mayor Steve Clark will now guide the next phase.
   

• Donna Lind steps into role as Scotts Valley mayor (santacruzsentinel.com) — Scotts Valley’s City Council has appointed longtime public servant Donna Lind as the new mayor and Steve Clark as vice mayor, with the new leadership team set to preside starting Jan. 21. Lind, a former police sergeant and four-term councilmember, has served the city in various roles for over 50 years. Councilmembers praised outgoing Mayor Derek Timm for guiding Scotts Valley through staff turnover and the December 2024 tornado.
