Scotts Valley Police: Woman Who Tried to Kidnap Child Arrested
After several witnesses called 911 to report an attempted kidnapping of a toddler, Scotts Valley Police arrived and made an arrest.

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA -- Scotts Valley Police investigators say that a 3-year-old girl who was with her grandfather when a suspected kidnapper appeared and grabbed the child, claiming that the child was her niece and she was going to "take her back."
The grandfather, police say, was able to grab his granddaughter away from the suspect and pulled her to safety before officers arrived. Upon their arrival on scene, witnesses were able to give a description of the suspect, and police located her on Scotts Valley Drive.
"The suspect was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and attempted child abduction. Additionally, she was on formal felony probation with an ankle monitor," the SVPD said in a statement posted on social media. "The suspect was transported to the Santa Cruz County Jail where she was held on her probation hold and a felony charge."
