
The shooting death of man during a dispute at Bonny Doon Beach was 27 years ago on Friday and the killing remains unsolved.
Eric Alday Pineda, 44,  was shot and killed near the parking area for Bonny Doon Beach, just south of Davenport, around 4 a.m. May 17, 1986, according to the Santa Cruz County sheriff's department.
"The shooting occurred after several subjects became involved in a confrontation," sheriff's officials said in a statement on their Unsolved Homicides web page. "After Pineda was shot, the suspects fled the area and have yet to be identified."
