Buckley Wins First State Playoff Game in Its 76-Year History
Sherman Oaks school's basketball team advances in state tournament.
Buckley High School's boys basketball team beat Bakersfield Christian in Tuesday night's state playoff game at Birmingham High School, marking the first time in Buckley's 76-year history that one of its teams won a game at the state level.
The score was 60-54, with Nick de Bonfilhs and Tyler Coppin-Carter each scoring 17 points to lead the team in the first round of the division playoffs.
"It was nip and tuck the whole game," said Buckley coach Mike Hamilton. "But in the end we beat them."
