Major Injury Crash Shuts Down 101 Freeway In Sherman Oaks
A collision involving a black SUV and a white sedan Sunday morning caused major injuries and shut down several lanes of the 101 Freeway.
SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A collision involving a black SUV and a white sedan Sunday morning caused major injuries and shut down several lanes of the Ventura (101) Freeway in Sherman Oaks.
The crash was reported at 1:23 a.m. on the eastbound Ventura Freeway at Van Nuys Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP issued a SigAlert at 2:18 a.m. shutting down lanes Nos. 1-5 of the seven lanes in that section of the eastbound Freeway.

Investigating officers also called for both vehicles to be towed to a secure facility as evidence, an indication of major injuries, according to CHP Officer Moses Marroquin.
