SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, CA — Metro will hold six virtual forums over the next week to hear public opinion on proposed bus route changes in the San Fernando Valley under the NextGen Bus Plan. The first hearing is scheduled for Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m.

The NextGen Bus plan aims to make significant improvements to L.A.'s public transit system. Metro claims the plan will double the number of frequent Metro bus lines, provide 81% of riders with a bus frequency of 10 minutes or less, and ensure 99% of riders are within a quarter mile of the nearest bus stop.

Changes could be implemented as soon as December. Hearings will also take place on August 20 at 6 p.m., August 22 at 10 a.m., August 24 at 6 p.m., August 26 at 6 p.m., and August 27 at 6 p.m. Residents can either dial in for a chance to speak during the meeting or write an eComment to be read during the hearing. Comments can also be submitted by email or regular mail until August 27.
